To be honest, I’m not sure if any job is really easy to get, but some have more openings than others. And jobs with more openings are key opportunities for job seekers. Job seekers with the skills needed for the jobs in demand have an easier time finding and landing employment. So what are the jobs employers are eager to fill?

ManpowerGroup recently released the 2016 Talent Shortage Survey results that show ten jobs that employers are having the hardest time filling. In the U.S., employers are searching for qualified candidates to the following jobs:

  • Skilled Trades
  • Drivers
  • Sales Representatives
  • Teachers
  • Restaurant & Hotel Staff
  • Accounting & Finance Staff
  • Nurses
  • Laborers
  • Engineers
  • Technicians

If your skills fit any of these jobs, now is a great time to explore new opportunities in these areas. If you are considering a new career, these would be job areas you should explore developing your skills around. Some of these jobs have been on the list of hardest jobs to fill for a couple of years – like skilled trades and sales representatives. The demand is only becoming greater. Now may be the perfect time to explore a new career path.
