Can you believe 2016 is winding down? We are knocking on the door of the last three months of the year. The things I planned to do this year really need to become a priority if I’m going to check it off my list for 2016. If a finding a new job was on your list, I recommend getting started on your job search with the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey that was just released.

The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey reflects hiring plans for the next three months – perfect timing to focus on finding your next job opportunity before the year ends. Manpower surveys over 11,000 U.S. managers to find out if they plan to hire in the next three months. Highlights from the latest survey reveal:

  • 22% of U.S. employers plan to hire in the last three months of 2016. Focus on the companies in your area where you really want to work – chances are good they may be hiring.
  • Industries with plans to hire the most include: Leisure & Hospitality, Wholesale & Retail Trade, Transportation & Utilities and Professional & Business Services. If you have always stayed within a particular industry that is not at the top of the charts for hiring consider one of the industries that is hiring.  Think outside your comfort zone and consider how the job you want may or may not differ based on the industry of the employer.
  • Don’t let the location hold you back. Top states hiring are Hawaii, Tennessee, Utah, Montana, Florida, and Arizona. Don’t despair if you don’t live in these states, think of companies that may have headquarters in these states and subsidiaries or suppliers in your location.

Access the report or take a look at the infographic to target your job search on the areas with the greatest demand. Close the door on 2016 with a new job that sets you up for a great 2017!
