… and it all jives!

I presented a webinar this morning to nearly 500 folks from around the world — mostly HR professionals. The subject matter was the talent shortage and the talent mismatch. Some people question whether or not there really is a talent shortage. So are employers struggling to fill key positions?

According to ManpowerGroup’s 2012 Talent Shortage survey, 49% of the employers we questioned are having difficulty.
The percentage of HR professionals polled prior to my webinar who can’t find the talent they need is 67%.
And during my webinar I polled the listeners. 79% said they had a talent shortage.

I know it’s a paradox — high unemployment, lots of people looking for jobs and employers not finding they talent they need. It is an issue with lots of moving parts, but the issue seems to be real.
